How to Do What You Love

How to Do What You Love

Paul Graham's essays are always an interesting read, especially if you are a computer science type. I've always said that I believe its possible to enjoy your occupation, especially when I've found myself around people that are "working hard" but hate the job. I once asked someone why he didn't leave if it was so bad... his answer - "Its just as f***** up everywhere else." I felt bad for him that day - but since I think he's seen that he has the power to change his world, and make it a better place. I don't know that I fully agree with Paul's position on this one (I love my job, but I'm not going to do it for no pay...thats just a little oversimplified) - but there are some great points. Building a strong work ethic in children is important, and I completely agree that you can show children the joy in building, creating, and "sweat equity".

A good read, well worth the time. Thanks Paul!
